Srinagar, Dec 11 (KNO): The suspicious explosive objects were detected and destroyed at Langate area of Handwara in north Kashmir Kupwara district and in Kashew area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of Police along with Army's local Rashtriya Rifles detected a suspicious explosive object along Baramulla—Handwara road.
However, shortly after the detection of the object, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was rushed to spot and the traffic was halted for public movement, they said. The object was destroyed and the traffic was restored as well, they said.
Meanwhile, an official told KNO that a joint team of CRPF, and Army's Rashtriya Rifles detected the old and rusted explosive in Kashew area.
He said that as the device was found, a bomb disposal squad was called in, while the road was closed for traffic movement. "The device was later destroyed," he said—(KNO)
